Remember to prune the leaves when planting mint

Mint is a very popular herb plant. You can smell a cool and refreshing fragrance as long as you rub the leaves gently with your fingers. This smell can refresh our mind and calm down our mood. The more slender the leaves are, the more refreshing they smell. Mint belongs to perennial herbaceous plants. It is green through all four seasons and easy to take care of, but it really needs enough sunlight and water.

Mint doesn’t fear hot weather; you can place it directly in the west window during hot summer. But if you don’t give it enough water to absorb, its leaves will droop, and the stems will be weak without any energy. At that time, you should water them immediately, and then it will be upright and exuberant again within only half day.

Planting mint will let you feel a sense of achievement, because it has a strong growing power and will grow taller every day, or new leaves and stems will appear, which makes you feel life is always full of hopes. But if you indulge it to grow, you will soon find that the leaves cover the sunlight each other, the lower leaves can’t grow well, and the stems droop because of overloading.

It is suitable for watching and making tea

It is better to prune the leaves once a month, help it to 「cut some hair」. You don’t need to mind the shape, but the quantity of leaves can’t less than half of the original. And also try to make every stem exposure to the sunlight. Often pruning and fertilizing it with 「long-term foliage fertilizer」 can make the mint become healthier and its foliage become luxuriant.
