Very Easy to Grow

Description:
Starfruit, or carambola trees, get their name from the shape of their fruit. Whole fruits are oval and pale yellow with five pointed lobes running vertically down the fruit. If you cut the fruit widthwise, each slice looks like a star. This makes the starfruit a common garnish for cocktails, fruit salads and cold fruit soups. The starfruit tree also works well as a decorative plant. In spring, lavender or pink flowers complement the pale green leaves. During summer, the pale yellow fruits can grow to about 5 inches long.
